How to go live with OBS

Create a free/low-cost live channel with a streaming provider — Cloudflare Stream Live, Mux, or Livepeer (self-branded), or YouTube Live / Twitch (free, fastest).
They give you an RTMP server URL and a stream key. In OBS: Settings → Stream → Custom, paste both, then Start Streaming.
Give the provider’s HLS playback URL (ends in .m3u8) — or a YouTube/Twitch embed URL — to your developer to set as an environment variable (LIVE_STREAM_URL or LIVE_EMBED_URL).
That’s it — your stream appears here automatically, and the chat is already live.

Your RTMP stream key stays in OBS only — it’s never stored on this site.
